She is a graduate of Charles County Public Schools and the College of Southern Maryland. She serves as Director for the March of Dimes of Southern Maryland and as a member of the Board of Education. In addition, she volunteers for the Center for Abused Persons and serves on the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Board for the Tri-County area. She is also a member of the Partnership for a Healthier Charles County and Charles County Chamber of Commerce. She plays goalie for several local womens and coed soccer teams.
