Yesterday on a morning show I heard him say that his therapist told him he is "heterosexual with issues" – and he even admitted that he has been struggling with this "issue" for a long time. Of course, he also went on to say he loves the lord and wants to "grow in Jesus." I wish he could use this lesson to embrace the gay community and champion their cause. Sigh.
Also, I really hate watching him talk – the way his lips are always poking out and in a weird grin freaks me out.

(CNN) – Evangelical pastor Ted Haggard described Thursday as "fundamentally true" an assertion that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 20-year-old male volunteer in 2006.
The incident occurred when the two men were in bed together, Grant Haas said in a videotaped interview played on CNN's "Larry King Live."
"He pretty much asked me if it was OK if he masturbated in front of me or masturbated in the bed next to me," Haas said. "I told him no, it would make me really uncomfortable. But he grabbed a bottle of lotion and started masturbating."
Haas added, "(Haggard) used to say to me, 'You know what, Grant, you can become a man of God, and you can have a little bit of fun on the side."

Funny video – but I wouldn't watch it at work:

I read this article in the WP, and I found this particular quote interesting:
Haggard said the hatred directed his way arrived with equal force from across the cultural spectrum.
“The difference is that when it comes from church people who promote love, forgiveness, understanding and grace, it penetrates one more deeply,” he said.
“Although, on the homosexual political side, their theme is tolerance, diversity, hope, ‘no judgment!’ ” Haggard points out. He settles back in the chair. “So I guess it’s pretty equal then.”

The difference is that the folks on the homosexual side are yelling for equal rights that they deserve. The other side is JUDGING you and your sins even though they aren’t “supposed” to.

That isn’t the difference, the difference is that Ted Haggard spent a long time attacking us, and working to deny us our rights, even though he is one of us. He has yet to apologize for that as far as I have seen. I think if he sincerely apologized then there would be no issue from the lgbt side.

Didn’t Haggard betray both sides?

He apologized to the church though.

Haggard still hasn’t admitted that he is gay or bi. He’s still a straight guy who just happens to have sex with men. (???)
I wonder if he would ever apologize to the LGBT community without accepting that he is one of them.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Yeah, right. Everything will be peachy keen.
LOL!!!!
If the Isaiah Washington incident taught us anything, it’s that no amount of aplogizing or groveling will make a bit of difference in the world. Nor should it, quite frankly. You are what you are, and if that’s a hateful bigot, so be it. I’m sure in Teddy’s eyes he did nothing wrong in denying the right to marry to an entire segment of the population. I’m sure his hypocrisy is lost on him. But I find the idea that a “sincere apology” will somehow make everything okay…well…laughable. Let him just go away and sleep in the bed he made.

Isn’t that called being on “the down low?”
