Handmade Monday on Wednesday

September 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

I haven’t been on my regular schedule this week, so I’m playing catch up.
Handmade Monday
The cooler weather is coming!  The cooler weather is coming!  I *love* wearing a fun winter cap and gloves or mittens.  I have been into stripes a lot and I have a black sparkling cap that says “Frisky” on it that [...]

Handmade Monday – Something for the Wee Ones

August 25th, 2008 · 7 Comments

I think this little crayon/paper pad tote is adorable. It comes in other colors/patterns.
When the kids are small it’s wise always to bring along:
-Entertainment
-Snacks
-Wipes & Cloths
I get irritated with parents who drag their kids to a bank or department store or any place really that kids would consider boring and the parent gets mad at [...]

Handmade Monday

August 18th, 2008 · 6 Comments

One of my favorite things about Autumn is the scents that come along with it.  Woodsmoke, ginger, nutmeg and spices.  I love buying spicy scented candles and burning them in the fall.  Etsy has lots and lots of handmade candles to choose from.  These caught my eye because of the great jar the maker uses.

Handmade Monday – Ren Season is Upon Us!

July 28th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Anybody here planning to go to the Maryland Renaissance Festival this season?  Maybe it would be fun to get a bunch of Cafe-ites together for a pint and some merry-making.
Many regular Renaissance Faire goers have a shift and a bodice or two in their closet.  For the Ren Faire newbie, a great place to grab garb [...]

Handmade Monday – Soaps, Salts & Lotions

July 14th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Mango Papaya Shaving Soap
I found a Maryland soapmaker’s online shop at etsy.com.
Shaving soap, facial clensing soap, creams, lotions and scrubs – I’ll bet they smell just wonderful!
In a time when we are all tightening our belts, it’s sometimes hard to justify buying some fancy soaps, but these soaps often are actually a great value for the [...]

Lemon Ball – Baseballs the OLD FASHIONED Way

June 9th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I saw these handmade baseballs at Etsy.com and think they are MAJORLY cool!  These baseballs run $24 each, which makes them pricey as baseballs go.  After all you can go to Dick’s and get a baseball for between $3.99 and $12.99.  However, if you ask me these are MUCH COOLER.  Besides the “Rawlings ROMLB Offical Major Leage Baseball” [...]
